Q: What’s a Thumb Turn
A: Thumb turns are required to be fitted by law on a lot of doors such as residential homes/ student accommodation /apartments in blocks etc. They are the fire brigades preferred choice of lock as you don’t have to look for your key to open the door in the event of a fire. As you just turn the knob on the inside of the door part of the lock to open and unlock the door.ABS cylinders Thumb Turn cylinders have a nice feature where the knob has to be pushed in and then turned this is an extra security feature
Q: How do I measure the cylinder?
A: We take the measurement from the centre screw hole to the edge of the lock. But you have to remember that abs locks are handed so the anti snap feature is obviously on the outside of the lock.
For instance measure the inside door part of the lock 1st this can be for instance
45mm from the edge of the lock where the key goes in -
Q: Can you key alike my locks -
A: Yes we can key alike your locks, drop us an e-
Q: I have had copy keys that don’t work from heel bars and such like, will yours work?
A: We cut any extra keys that you require on specialist machines supplied to us from the ABS factory that we only use to cut the ABS key. If you place an order for extra keys at the same time as ordering your locks we will try them in the lock 1st before we send them out.
